Well, it all started when the chainstay on my aluminum mountain bike frame started cracking. I didn't want this to keep me from riding, so I figured maybe I could fix it. Upon closer inspection of the crack, I decided there was no way to fix it so that it would be able to support me at 250lbs. Then I decided, why not just make one myself. That way I could make a custom frame that is lighter, stronger, interesting and tailored to fit me perfectly. After lots of research and time spent learning various techniques, I came across the unbelievable properties of Bamboo. I read everything I could about Bambooand how to maximize it's potential for structural support. The idea of creating something that would bring me so much enjoyment, was not something I was just going to forget about. So, there was only one thing left to do.....Build it. After completing my first bike frame, I realized this was the perfect thing for me to do. I had stumbled upon a way to not only get a new bike, but also make a change in the world. With that outlook in mind, I knew that this was the way for me. With the understanding that all of our life supporting systems on the planet are failing, I had finally figured out a way to make an impact.
